Vitoria Maldonado is a brasilian pianist, singer, composer and arranger.

Her music transpire the typical romanticism, thus making her art capture the soul of her songs with passion besides the influence of Bossa Nova as well as a jazzy education,

As a good inhabitant of the State of São Paulo, with a fine and elegant taste for music, she has always been a big fan of “Bossa Nova” in which figures such as Tom Jobim, João Gilberto, Vinicius de Moraes, and Elis Regina among many others like Milton Nascimento, provided one of the most creative moments of the Brazilian Pop Music. During the same period, she became a student of Amilson Godoy and subsequently of Gogô. Both awakened her senses to harmonize the songs she composed when she was a young girl of 10 years old.

During her youth, this experience arouse her interest for jazz, leading her to get in touch with the American music through artists such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Oscar Peterson, Ron Carter, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarret, Pat Metheny, and so many others.

In São Paulo she attended the Music College -  FAAM - “Faculdade de Artes Alcântara Machado” where she had lessons with Regina Martins. She studied composition with Oswaldo Lacerda and piano with Marina Brandão.

Vitoria´s first recording was held at the Eldorado Studios for the program “Um piano ao cair da tarde”.

All these experiences led her to continue her musical training in the United States. In 1986 she graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston where she studied composition, arrangement and conducting. Returning to Brazil, back home in the city of Rio de Janeiro, she formed a duet with Marisa Monte accompanying at the piano and being the back vocal on several performances held at the pub Double Dose, a cozy little bar with the perfect ideal environment for good music.
